- 09:47 Cats are fucking rude. #
- 10:57 @sockherder No, this time Zoe decided her ass needed to be right in my face. #
- 11:05 I am craving buttercup squash, but the closest I have is turnip. :( #
- 11:37 Mashed turnip and carrots = yummy, but they're not buttercup squash. I'll have to buy one when I go in town. #
- 12:37 You'd think it would be more cost-effective for the town to repave my road than have people cold-patching potholes every few days. #
- 14:07 OMG I actually just had someone try the "do you come here often" line on me. #
- 14:08 @theemdash A coffee shop. #
- 14:11 @theemdash It's my third time at this particular one. And I think possibly my last. He was pretty skeevy. #
- 14:15 @theemdash I told him my name (before I realized he was hitting on me -- I'm slow like that) and I bet anything he's googling me now. #
- 14:16 @theemdash Well, it makes me feel dirty. And not in the fun way. Also, how many Fias can there be? #
- 14:51 Oh my god what is that smell. I think it might be death. With gravy. #
- 14:57 My would-be suitor has left. Whew. #
- 16:11 Great, my sister's going to be at school TWO HOURS longer than expected. Send me stuff to entertain myself. #
- 16:16 ...how are my domains still mis-directing?! #
- 16:26 Reaching through the internet to punch a hole in my hosting server. #
- 17:29 Okay, I'm about 20 seconds away from firing Photoshop CS3 and going back to 7, which doesn't crash every 3 seconds. #
- 17:30 I can only assume there is some kind of digital conspiracy to drive me batshit and fend off my boredom with frustration. #
- 20:36 @theemdash Ooh, tough call. #
- 22:11 @wontstaydead Are you playing coy? #
- 23:02 @chanceofrainne Indeed. #
Today we celebrate the birthday of the lovely and talented
janedavitt! I hope your day is full of everything that makes you smile.

Let's start with the warning: "Warnings: Character death, slight angst. Does "unbetaed" constitute as a warning?" If you have to ask, the answer is probably yes. Especially since you go on to claim that "English isn't my native". Native what? You might also want to reconsider admitting that "I'm not very good at this but I really felt like writing something after [Episode]. Just bear with me, okay?"
I made it past the song lyrics and through two whole paragraphs before the rampant verb tense switches scrambled my brains like so many eggs.
Fanbrats who wish to no longer be considered so, take note: If you think you need a beta, you probably do. If you feel it is necessary to disclaim yourself by claiming not to be a native speaker of the language you are writing in, find a beta who is, just to be safe. If you are "not very good at this," why are you posting? Betas are good for this, too, because they will either a) assure you that you are good at it or b) help you to become good at it.
Also, as
sockherder said when I was bitching to her in IM, "I have my suspicions that the good authors in fandom don't speak English as their native language, and that lazy American thirteen-year-olds claim it's not their native language so they can go *KEYSMASH* instead of typing intelligible English." While I actually do know a lot of good writers who are native English-speakers, I wouldn't be very surprised to find that the rest of the statement was entirely accurate.

The first post in a new blog seems like it ought to be something monumental or something, but since I’m just plain mental I’m just going to go ahead and open this blog up with something I’ve not yet seen in any of the other Chuck-related blogs.
For those of you who aren’t watching the DC Comics website, slavering in anticipation of the Chuck comic, here is a sneak peek at the cover of the July Issue (Chuck #2):
